The Project win granted Noticer to Proceed, with no condtons by the Miter of the Environnent and Cimate Change, known today an the Minister of the Environment Conservation and Parka, in October 2017. The EPRasessed a62kilomere enension of the eisting Bloor Dandonh Subway Line 2rom Kennedy Station to Scarborough Centre, via Eglinton Avenue, Danforth Road and MeCowan Rpad. Since the completion of the 2017 EPRamber of changes have been proposed that are inconestent with the 2017 EPR design. Aa described in Section 15 of O. Reg 231/08, amended ne 30, 2020. under the Envionmenta Aurament Act any change thatis inconsitert witha previounly approved EPR requires a ceansesament of the impacts asociated with the change and the measures needed to mitigate any negative impacts that the change may have. Metrolina has ansessed the proposed design changes in accordance with O. Reg 23108 Changes to the Project include an estension of the underground alignment, two new emergency eit buildings one nevised emengency exit building location, bwo ree surions, anda tvsed stetion locationan Scarbonough Cere Changes to the consatruction method include a tunnal boring machine launch shaft at the teminal station at Sheppard Averue. and an etection shah locaned aLarence Auene Cast and McCowan Road Station. Cut-and-cover consruction east of Kennedy Station to Midiand Avenus,ill also take place for tal teckelignment andinatalation of pocet tracka. Asa neult ofthese changes, the Project wl estend approsimately kilometes nerth into Scarborough, from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Auenu and McCowan Road and wil provide mone transit connections.
