About
Cabbagetown Art & Crafts, and the annual sale it presents, was founded by Randy Brown in 1988, and he still runs it today. Located in Riverdale Park West, which is in Cabbagetown in the heart of downtown, it is the oldest and prettiest park in Toronto. The sale takes place on the second weekend of September on the same weekend as the Cabbagetown Festival. There is no admission fee and it is readily accessible by TTC.
The Cabbagetown Art & Crafts is a not-for-profit corporation which benefits many local charitable organizations in various ways. The aim of CA&C is to encourage appreciation of the visual arts, to give artists a place to sell their work, and to foster community spirit.
Exhibitors line the walkways of Riverdale Park with their tents and tens of thousands of people stroll the walkways to view the wares. Overarching trees provide shade, there are park benches for family picnics and ample food for sale. All in all, it is a wonderful community event. Come, be part of it.
